Meet our Pastor

Rev. Samer Kandalaft comes to us after serving at The Presbyterian Church of Lebanon - Sidon for 7 years. Pastor Samer, born and grew up in Homs , Syria , earned his Bachelor of Theology in Christian Education degree from The Near East School of Theology, Beirut - Lebanon ; and recently completed his In Ministry study at the Presbyterian college, Montreal . The family moved to live in Canada in June 2007. Rev. Samer was admitted as minister in the Presbyterian church of Canada in September 1, 2008.

Pastor Samer describes his faith by stating, I believe that I am saved by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ and I have been given specific gifts
to use in service to my Lord as an offering of thanks and praise.

Pastor Samer first felt called to the ministry while attending Bible Camp as a youth. This feeling grew stronger as a youth volunteer worker in his home Presbyterian Church in Homs- Syria , and eventually developed into full time service as a preacher then a pastor.

Pastor Samer is married to Shahrzad, born in Iran , served the Lord in the Episcopal Church of Tehran and earned her degree in Theology and Christian Education from The Near East School of Theology, Beirut - Lebanon where she met Rev. Samer, married and committed their lives to serve at Christ church.

Rev. Samer sees ministry at the churches of St. Paul 's - Kemptville and Knox - Mountain as an opportunity because of the congregations' enthusiasm to ministry and mission work as well as their endeavor to be a true family of God and upholds one another in living out life in Christ.

The Kandalafts have two sons and a girl.
